Ride Engineering Pulse Replacement Rotor

If you’re looking for a 270mm replacement rotor for your Yamaha or Kawasaki or if you want to go oversize on your Honda, KTM, Triumph, Beta, Gas Gas or Husqvarna, Ride Engineering has an inexpensive option for you. Ride Engineering’s Pulse Rotor kits are 10mm larger than stock and made from a special grade stainless/iron alloy material. This unique shape is said to keep the brake pads cool while reducing weight (1lb 1oz). It’s paired with a 270mm machined billet hanger bracket ensuring a precise fit that surprisingly has little to no drag on the front wheel. I hate nothing more than going to an aftermarket rotor and hanger only to find out that it drags.

On the track I noticed a slightly stronger stopping power but nothing groundbreaking. I do think the touch of the brake is a little stronger when we put it on a Honda. Coming into corners the Honda front brake feel was a little more powerful, but as you know the Honda brakes are already one of the best brakes in stock form. Being that we only tested it on a Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha we would assume that the Pulse rotor would improve other brands that come with 260mm sized rotors.

When we installed the Ride Engineering Pulse kit on the Yamaha YZ450F we didn’t notice any performance gain or loss so this could be an option for a replacement disc if need be (OEM Yamaha rotor is $155.00 at RMATVMC). The feel at the lever felt the same as the stock rotor even though the stock Yamaha is a floating rotor and the Ride Engineering Pulse rotor is a non floating, so this could be an option to save a little cash.

The MSRP for the Ride Engineering Pulse kit replacement rotors for the Yamaha and Kawasaki are just $120.00 Rotor’s with hanger bracket to convert from 260mm to 270mm (for Honda, KTM, Triumph, Beta, Gas Gas, Husqvarna) for Nissin, Brembo and BrakTec are $179.95.
