The Twin Air PowerFlow kit is a lightweight aluminum cage that is designed to replace the stock CRF backfire screen and filter system to improve performance by allowing more airflow. By installing the Twin Air PowerFlow kit, we eliminated the backfire screen, allowing more air to flow into the intake system. Installation was easy as:
1. Remove stock air filter
2. Remove Phillip head screw in upper right corner
3. Remove screen
4. Put liquid gasket on lip of power flow kit. (Liquid gasket included in kit)
5. Clip lower part of the power flow kit onto stock air box
6. Install Phillip screw back in the upper right corner
When out on the track the 2026 Honda CRF450R’s engine had more low end RPM response but kept that connected stock Honda engine feel. The Honda also has a little more of a free-revving feel that made for a more exciting engine feel when the track got rough. The biggest difference is made when you’re cornering through shallow ruts. With the Twin Air PF Kit the transition from on/off throttle had more connection and less lag which improved cornering feel. I am not going to sit here and tell you that is HUGE difference but it is noticeable enough to at least feel where you spent your money. It is a similar feel to a bolting on a slip on muffler so that is at least noticeable. All from airflow…
We also prefer the sealing of a Twin Air filter over the stock filter and from experience the Twin Air filter system is much more durable than the stock filter. The downside is the kit is $299.95 which can be a little expensive but the kit is well built and made to last. Not to mention that you will not be getting a filter that is as good as a Twin Air. The kit comes complete with aluminum plate, cage and pre oiled filter! At least you won’t have to oil your filter the first time you put it inside your new Honda!
