Kawasaki doesn’t have an all new KX250F for 2027 but we got out hands on aPro Circuit Ti-6 recently so why not bolt it up and see what it does the to the green machine’s engine character. We have put time on the stock KX250F and then bolted up the Ti-6 to see what the differences were compared to the stock muffler.
Immediately I weighed the both the stock and titanium PC muffler and took notice of how the Pro Circuit system cut just over 1.8 pounds off the green machine so we were starting off well. The next thing that made me happy was that the PC muffler goes on easy and literally took me 10 minutes to change out! Boom! So far so good! After installation I recruited my son to help me evaluate the system as he has had more time on the KX250 platform than I do. I made him write his notes down and I told him we would compare both of ours after we have completed our evaluation.
When you purchase your Ti-6 muffler, it will come with a spark arrester screen already installed inside the muffler. You can leave the insert in but cut the screen out for back pressure. Simply remove the insert, cut the screen off and then slap it back in. This helps with back pressure and gives the KX250 a little more low RPM response and bottom end that I like. Aden prefers it with it fully removed as he gets more low end response with it out. It’s nice to have options.
Ok so now that we got the “tricks” out of the way, how does this PC system compare to stock?. Normally I DO NOT get more bottom end with a PC system (versus stock) on any brand of bike, but I was surprised that I got a little extra bottom end pulling power out of the PC system. RPM response is a little more responsive than the stock system and when opening up the throttle out of corners, the KX250F with the PC system pulls slightly harder than the stocker. Mid range is where you will feel the meat of this Ti-6 power. When accelerating out of the corner and shifting to third, the KX250F doesn’t have that “empty” feeling that the stock muffler has when the track is tilled deep. The PC system pulls longer once the KX250F is shifted into third gear and continues to pull harder into the north portion of the top end of the machine. Over-rev is as good as stock and I didn’t notice any loss of over-rev or gain when swapping the two mufflers back and forth.
The only real negative I have found from the PC system is I wish it would have a little more low end RPM response. Or maybe I just want more low end in general from the 27’ KX250F? The stock muffler has a smoother roll on which can make the bike feel a little heavy when hopping over bumps or popping out of blown out berms. The PC system pulls better, has a snappier response so it makes the heavy on paper/feeling 27’ KX250F a little lighter feeling out on the track. This is a positive! The exhaust note is also much better than the stock note. The stock exhaust sounds like it’s plugged up and has some kind of flu, but the PC sounds racey and ready to do some damage on the track.
