VP Racing Fuels (ProCar Blend vs TT blend)

Written By: Victor Guerrero

At Keefer Inc Testing we have talked many years about VP racing fuels, but this one is not something we have ever written about. Some of our testers have alternate hobbies to occupy their time away from work and motocross. That hobby involves radio controlled cars that have 3.5cc engines in them. These engines run on Nitromethane fuel. VP racing has been involved in the RC industry for over 15 YEARS. During this time period they have multiple Ifmar World Championships and Roar national championships to log under their accomplishments. We recently tested out the “Pro Car” and “TT” at the world famous Thunder Alley RC Raceway located in Beaumont Ca. The Pro car has 30% nitro with 9% multi-viscosity synthetic and castor oil and the TT blend has 30% nitro 8% synthetic oil. These blends offer a consistent tune and reliability for your bashing days, practice days and your race days. We have tested this fuel in OS based engines. Fuel mileage is very consistent as well with these blends of fuel. With these blends there is no dye added to it providing a clear fuel that does not stain fuel tanks and or engine components. VP states no after run oil is necessary with this blend as well. We ran these fuels back to back. The TT blend has a noticeable amount of bottom end increase vs the pro car. With that being said the pro car has more top end down straights. The TT seemed to hold a lower more constant idle with less variance. The main differences is the castor oil blend vs synthetic. The castor oil blend is going to produce a high heat tolerance during leaner tunes. While the synthetic oil is going to produce less friction for maximum performance. Pick your poison between these fuels. Both are great fuels and we highly recommend both of them for any RC enthusiast.

Victor Guerrero is  a long time RC racer that has raced professionally and managed a RC racing team. He recently got injured at work and decided to put the voluntary weekend risk taking on the back burner (motocross). With that being said he still needed to get his adrenaline fix and be competitive for a while without putting his health at risk. That’s all we really know about the guy! -KK
